The Dinwiddie County Chamber of Commerce has one mission: to support economic vitality and promote Dinwiddie County as a great place to live, work, play visit, and invest.

In an effort to keep our businesses and citizens up-to-date and informed with reliable information, we have created this page to serve as a resource.  It is broken down into three (3) links as defined below.  We will update it as new information becomes available.

Resource Links– Here you will find links to national, state and local information as they post it.  This includes SBA information, unemployment information and  the daily updates from Governor Northam’s offce.

Restaurant List – Here you will find a list of local restaurants with phone numbers who are offering take-out and/or delivery services.  Please note this list does not intend to be all inclusive.  As things are changing daily, I encourage you to follow their facebook pages to get up to date information on their operating hours and offerings.  Many of them are now offering DoorDash and GRUBHub delivery services as well.

Education – In a conversation this morning with superintendent Dr. Kari Weston, she expressed concern for all students.  A “distance learning” web-site has been created  for both elementary and secondary school students.  She is in constant contact with the Department of Education on the the national and state levels and will provide updates as they are available.  She also informed me that DCPS has already filed a waiver for SOL testing.  One of the greatest concerns has been food distribution to the students.  She indicated that beginning next week, the food distribution at Eastside Enhancment Center will be moved to Sutherland Elementary.  Please be on the lookout for that information.  There is also a need for volunteers!  Links to all of this information can be found by clicking the link above.

BEWARE – Unfortunately, we are also seeing reports of scammers taking advantage of this global crisis.  While, we do not have any reports of it specifically in this area, we are seeing emails and texts with links for you to click on to get cash now.  Government agencies who are offering support will not do this!  Please only go to trusted sites!  Check on grandparents, parents, neighbors who may be especially concerned about loss of income and make them aware!

We encourage you to follow both the county and schools on social media as well.  Anther good resource for activities are the Dinwiddie County Park and Recreation and Dinwiddie 4-H facebook pages. At this time, Pamplin Historical Park and other county parks are open, visit Discover Dinwiddie for a complete list of outdoor activities available.

We will continue to update our Facebook page as well.

In these unprecedented times, the outpouring of community support has been overwhelming!  It just proves the validity of our mission!  Please continue to follow prevention recommendations and mandates in order to keep Dinwiddie County safe!  As always, we are here to assist you!  Please email us with comments/concerns/suggestions:
