About Dinwiddie

Located 25 miles south of Richmond, VA (state capital) and 140 miles south of Washington, DC, the nation’s capital, Dinwiddie County was established May 1, 1752. 

Dinwiddie has a land area of 504 square miles with suburban and rural living space suitable for raising a family. The county’s government is composed of 5 members who serve as Board of Supervisors and a County Administrator. 

Agriculture plays a significant role and contributes significantly to the local economy. One can become loss in the beautiful sites and the county’s rich history, with stunning sites, including Lake Chesdin located along the northern boundary and Pamplin Historical Park and National Museum of the Civil War Soldier.

Dinwiddie County is home to recreational venues such as the well-known Virginia Motorsports Park (VMP) and state-of-the-art Dinwiddie County Sports Complex that serves as a venue for baseball, football, soccer, and more.

Dinwiddie County continues to expand as it becomes home to growing families and a place where corporate entities seek opportunity that contributes to economic development.  

About the Chamber

The Dinwiddie County Chamber of Commerce is composed of businesses that strive to support the interests of its fellow business members and its local community. Our activities range from hosting events, to lobbying local representatives to charitable works for the betterment of the community. We can assist you by providing valuable resources that can help grow your business, save you money and market your products or services.

The Dinwiddie County Chamber of Commerce is organized for the following purpose:

Promote Economic Programs

We promote business and community growth and development by supporting economic programs designed to strengthen and expand the income potential of all businesses within the trade area.

Support Civic, Social, and Cultural Programs

We support programs of civic, social and cultural nature which are designed to increase the functional and aesthetic values of the community, as well as assisting with public awareness of those businesses within the county.

Enhance the Competitive Enterprise System

We focus to enhance the competitive enterprise system of business by creating a better understanding and appreciation of the importance of business, business people and a concern for their associated challenges.

Educate the Business Community

We educate the business community and represent them in local, state and national affairs.

Liaison Between the County and Business Members

We present or address issues which are detrimental to the expansion and growth of business in the community as a liaison between county and membership.

Combat Policies that Prevent Business and Community Growth

We discover and assist in the correction of abuses which prevent the promotion of business expansion and community growth.

The Dinwiddie County Chamber of Commerce Membership Team is the back-bone of our organization. Working tirelessly to bring its members great perks and benefits through other members, Dinwiddie County partnerships, Tri-Cities partnerships and partnerships all over the Commonwealth.

Dinwiddie County Chamber of Commerce maintains membership in the Virginia Chamber of Commerce on behalf of our membership. All members are invited to become involved with the Virginia Chamber of Commerce on behalf and through our membership.

The Virginia Chamber of Commerce links us to the US Chamber of Commerce through their membership and we are kept abreast of national items of concern and importance. These items are passed on to our members and members are invited to participate in events of interest.
